Visited Thattekad after several years. Stayed at Eldhose’s camp for a couple of days visiting the sanctuary and his bird hide a couple of times.
A night walk revealed several lorises, frogmouth and nightjars. A (sad) highlight of the trip was a dead Chestnut-winged Cuckoo (potential roadkill) on the road leading to the sanctuary. This bird has become a serious rarity in the country with very few records in the last several years.
Most of the pictures are taken from the hide.
