Mudumalai, November 2004

Trip to Chital Walk, Masinagudi, Mudumalai Made this short 3-day trip to Chital Walk, a delightful place in Masinagudi, adjoining Mudumalai WS. Swarna and I drove from Bangalore. This lodge is run by Mark Davidar, son of ERC Davidar who had written a book of the same name (Chital Walk) about his experiences in the area – Sigur ghat. Chital Walk is a fantastic place for arm-chair wildlife viewing. The verandah overlooks the Sigur river and valley and tigers, elephants, sambhar and gaur are frequently seen from here!

We were based in Chital Walk and made trips into Mudumalai WS, Bandipur NP (across the border in Karnataka) and drives up Sigur ghat. We did one evening safari organized by the Jungle Lodges Bandipur Safari Lodge.
