Cauvery Fishing Camp, January 2005

New Year trip in Galibore and Doddamakali Like all other New Year holidays, this year we wanted to be as far away from the partying crowds of Bangalore. When the offer came to camp on the banks of the river Cauvery we jumped at it. Frieds Burfa, Vineet & Akaanksha joined Swarna and I in a 3-day / 2-night camping holiday at Galibore and Doddamakali fishing camps of Jungle Lodges.

The highly endangered Grizzled Giant Squirrel is relatively easy to spot in Galibore within the camp premises. This is probably one of the last stongholds of this squirrel in its diminished range. I have attached a couple of images shot near the last tent in Galibore.
