A Vintage Nissan

One of my favourite wilderness retreats is a tiny jungle lodge called ‘Bison Wells’ about 20km away from Kodaikanal towards Berijam lake. The lodge is set next to the spectacular Kookal Shola and is home to several species of endemic wildlife found in India’s western ghats. The camp is run by George Roshan, a complete perfectionist and wonderful host.

One of the rituals of visiting Bison Wells is the pick up by George from Kodaikanal in his vintage Nissan truck which he bought from an aging Maharaja. The 60s truck is in perfect condition which tackles the incredibly bumpy 20 odd kilometres like a dream. Here are a few images of this wonder!
