Nagarahole, Sept 2015

After a long time, took a two-day trip to Nagarahole Tiger Reserve. Giri Cavale came along and we stayed at Kabini River Lodge.

It was a rainy trip and the moist deciduous forests were in all splendour. We didn’t see any cats, but we saw a pack of 8 dhole or Indian Wild Dog twice (once on a kill). The herbivore population seemed to have exploded after the monsoon and there were never ending herds of chital. And gaur, sambar, pig, langur.
