This is two trips combined both made in April with Eldhose (of Thattekad fame). The off-season arrived and Eldhose had free time to help me with some Western Ghats specialties including my long time jinxed species — the Waynad Laughing Thrush. We allocated a full-day in the fabulous Edamalayar forests for this and it did take a substantial time and energy to locate and photograph the bird. It was classic Arunachal type photography right here in Kerala! We had to park our car in this amazing tunnel before our trek into Edamalayar. Some pictures of the Edamalayar forests are right at the end.
The first trip (that included Edamalayar) was to Thattekad and Munnar and the second trip was to Bandipur and Ooty. The images in the gallery are in that order. We stopped at JLR’s Bandipur Safari Lodge and went on two safaris enroute to Ooty where we stayed at the stunning Lymond House.
