Strictly Sociable!

I have been missing the Sociable Lapwing over the years in many locations in Gujarat and this time I was determined to take a chance the moment I heard about a sighting. As I was returning from the Hornbill Festival in Nagaland, and transiting in Kolkata, I got word from the gracious Muzahid bhai of Rann Riders that two flocks of the Critically Endangered Sociables were being seen in the Little Rann. I made a long detour and reach Rann Riders via Ahmedabad late at night. It just took me one jeep safari the next morning to spot the small flock of sociables almost hidden amongst a flock of common cranes.
